Originally from the sun-soaked suburbs of Southern California, RENAE grew up in a world of palm trees, power chords, and permanent marker lyrics scribbled in notebooks. Her journey took a detour through the Midwest, where she lived in Iowa during college and for a few years after—learning how to survive brutal winters, dive bar gigs, and a whole lot of personal growth. (Yes, she can drive in snow. No, she doesn’t want to.)

 

Eventually, the pull of music—and warmer weather—led her to Nashville, TN, where she’s now based and building a pop punk empire on her own terms.
